1. About these Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Tianxue (“we,” “us”), the operator of this website and application (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

The Service is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to create an account or use the Service. The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly allow minors to use it.

3. The Service

Tianxue is an early-access language-learning platform offering courses, exercises, and spaced-repetition review. Some study materials (such as practice questions, flashcards, and writing prompts) are generated with the help of artificial intelligence. AI-generated content can contain errors or inaccuracies. The Service is provided for educational purposes only; do not rely on it as a sole or authoritative source, and verify anything important independently.

4. Your account

You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account, to keep your password confidential, and to be responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at the contact address below if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

5. Your content

Some users (course creators) can upload or link source material such as documents and media to build course content. You retain any ownership rights you have in content you upload. By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, reproduce, and display it as needed to operate and provide the Service — including processing by the service providers we use to run the Service, such as AI providers that generate study materials from your source content.

You are responsible for making sure you have the necessary rights to any content you upload, and that uploading it does not infringe anyone else’s copyright or other rights. We may remove content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or the law.

6. Acceptable use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
• upload content you do not have the right to use;
• attempt to access other users’ accounts or data, or probe, disable, or interfere with the Service’s security or operation;
• scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content from the Service;
• abuse or attempt to circumvent limits on content-generation features; or
• resell or commercially exploit the Service without our permission.

7. Our content

The Service itself — including its software, design, and features — belongs to us or our licensors. These Terms do not give you any rights in the Service other than the right to use it as described here.

8. Early access, availability, and changes

The Service is in early access. Features may change, break, or be removed, and the Service may be suspended or discontinued at any time. We do not guarantee that your data or content will be preserved — keep your own copies of any source material you upload.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your account by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims relating to the Service is limited to fifty US dollars (US $50) or the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. United States operation

The Service is operated from the United States. We make no representation that the Service is appropriate or available for use in other locations. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and take reasonable steps to notify you, such as a notice in the Service. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
