Tianxue should be accessible without a VPN. If you are using a VPN, choose an endpoint closest to Virginia, United States. Email authentication for sign-up might not work with Chinese providers (e.g., qq). If that is an issue, try using an American-based provider.
Backlog and caveats
English as a foreign language at intermediate and up (CEFR B1+) and Chinese as foreign at upper elementary and up (HSK 2+) are most easily supported. Site latency is due to low cost tier database provider; this can change depending on usage. In-app paid API calls (e.g. document processing) are capped.
